Several weeks ago I had to replace my USB-to-Serial adaptor.\u00a0 After much research, Facebook posting\/discussion I bought a Ugreen USB adaptor from Amazon<\/a>.\u00a0 After a few times, I started having issues.\u00a0 I figured, like most network engineers it was software.\u00a0 Long story short it was a hardware failure and a replacement one fixed it.<\/p>\n

However, in my searching I came across a little gem simply called Serial from Decisive tactics<\/a>.\u00a0 \u00a0What sold me on it was the ability to do profiles.\u00a0 Many times I am connecting to Cisco and the old way is the terminal emulator defaults to something that is not 9600. So I have to go into preferences, change it, apply a few times and I am good. Lots of wasted clicks.\u00a0 With Serial I can select my profile and off I go.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
