The protocol was also enhanced for better speed, but any radio using only a single radio didn’t qualify as “802.11n certified”.

Products that pass the test will not be Wi-Fi CERTIFIED n, since the 802.11n standard does not allow for single-stream access points and routers. Instead, they will carry a version without the “n” (for single stream products) or without the “a” (for single-band products).
